Alcester & Ragley Cricket Club Members and friends have in the past two weeks taken part in a number of fundraising events for the club, on the 2/3rd April the men of the club travelled to Chester for the Annual Golf Day and this past weekend (10th April) the club took part in a sponsored walk around the grounds of the Ragley Estate this weekend in an annual fundraiser. The club has a host of fundraising events throughout the year and the Sponsored Walk and Golf Day are the curtain raisers to the start of the season, providing bonding and fundraising for everyone. The overall goal is to build a brand new pavillion for the club, we are currently half way through the redevelopment of the ground, in 2009 we extended our pitch, in the winter of 2010 we had new outdoor nets erected and we are now working towards the final part of the development, the new pavillion. The Sponsored Walk was a roaring success and netted the club £900 worth of sponsorr, the Golf Day also adding £400 in much needed funds. |
