Alcester & Ragley 2nd XI 190 – 8 beat Norton Lindsey 2nd I 141 all out by 49 runsC

Invited to bat on a damp wicket Alcester & Ragley 2nd XI lost early wickets against Norton Lindsay 2nd XI, but a steady partnership between captain Dave Swinburn and Adam Devey started the recovery from 33 for 4. However both fell in quick succession and at 85 for 6 Alcester were in trouble. But youngsters Ben Shuttleworth (43) and Tom Wadelin (36) came to the rescue with a 77 run partnership and some strong hitting in the final overs from Mike Bennett enabled Alcester to close at 190 for 8.
In reply Norton Lindsay started briskly but lost wickets to some excellent catches. The introduction of the spin duo Tom Wadelin and Mike Bennett slowed the runs and Norton Lindsay fell well behind the required rate. Pete Capron continued the spin attack and destroyed the lower order with 5 for 11 in 4.3 overs as Norton Lindsay collapsed to 141 all out. After three successive wins Alcester & Ragley 2nd XI face Hockley & Dorridge at Ragley next weekend.
